About Us

Van Brothers Construction is a building company specialising in professional stone masonry in the Garden Route. The company is managed by brothers, Mark and Matthew Van Rensburg, who are 3rd generation stonemasons. The brothers have almost 20 years of combined experience in the building profession.

The brothers began their building careers with thier uncles Mike and Kieran Ahern in a family-run Irish building company, Ahern Brothers Construction, whilst living in Cork in 2000. Mark completed his five year training and apprenticeship in 2007 and Matthew, the following year. The brothers gained a wealth of experience working with cut and dressed stone faces, walls and entrances, fireplaces, architectural brickwork, civil projects, historical renovations and complete new builds while working with a skilled Irish team. Together Mark and Matthew have over 20 years of experience in construction.

In 2012, having returned to South Africa, they opened their own business in George. The Van Rensburg brothers now offer traditional stonemasonry, brickwork and project management of new builds in the Garden Route. They pride themselves on exceptional service, on-site management and superior quality stonemasonry.

Van Brothers Construction also supply natural stone to customers if required. Using stone guillotines and the teams’ skilled craft Van Bros take the client’s chosen natural stone, cut it to size and build to the clients preferred style.
